Privacy Policy – OVER PANIC
Last updated: 4 October 2026
OVER PANIC is an Android application that provides a pocket security alarm feature called ARM IT, together with the Over Panic entertainment game.
This Privacy Policy explains how information may be handled when you use the app.
1. Information collected by OVER PANIC
OVER PANIC does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, address, or other personal profile information to use the app.
The ARM IT feature uses device capabilities and sensors to detect movement of the device so that the security alarm can operate.
Sensor readings used for this functionality are processed by the app for the purpose of operating the alarm. OVER PANIC does not use these readings to track your physical location.
2. Emergency Contact Feature
The Over Panic game may allow you to select a contact from your device as part of the game’s functionality.
Contact information selected for this feature is used only to provide the requested functionality. OVER PANIC does not upload your contact list to our servers, sell your contacts, or use them for advertising.
The app may request the Android permissions necessary to access the contact selected by you.
3. Advertising
OVER PANIC is supported by advertising and uses Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertisements.
Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect or process certain information for purposes including advertising, analytics, measurement and fraud prevention. Depending on the device, region, consent choices and Google services involved, this may include:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
- device and advertising identifiers;
- app interactions, such as app launches and interactions with advertisements; and
- diagnostic and performance information.
OVER PANIC does not control all information independently collected and processed by Google through the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
For more information about how Google handles information, please see Google’s privacy policies and advertising documentation.
4. Consent and Advertising Choices
Where required by applicable privacy laws, OVER PANIC uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage advertising consent.
Users in applicable regions may be offered choices regarding the use of their personal data for advertising, including options to consent, decline consent, or manage their privacy choices.
The type of advertising that Google can provide may depend on the user’s location, consent choices, device settings and applicable law.
5. Device Permissions
OVER PANIC may request Android permissions that are necessary for features provided by the app.
These may include permissions associated with device functionality, sensors, notifications, contacts, vibration, audio or other functionality required by ARM IT or the Over Panic game.
Permissions are used only for the functionality for which they are required.
You can manage app permissions through your Android device settings.
6. Data Sharing
OVER PANIC does not sell your personal information.
Information may be processed or shared by third-party services integrated into the app, particularly Google AdMob, where necessary to provide advertising, analytics, measurement, security and fraud-prevention services.
These third-party services operate according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to design OVER PANIC so that information used directly by its core functionality is limited to what is necessary to provide those features.
Information transmitted by third-party services such as Google AdMob is subject to the security practices of those providers. Google states that data collected by its Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using TLS. Google for Developers
8. Children’s Privacy
OVER PANIC is not specifically designed or directed at children.
Advertising and data handling may vary according to applicable laws, Google Play requirements, Google AdMob settings and the age-related settings applicable to the app and user.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when OVER PANIC changes, when new functionality is introduced, or when legal, Google Play or advertising requirements change.
Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
10. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or OVER PANIC’s privacy practices, please contact us through the developer contact information provided on the OVER PANIC Google Play listing.
One important bit before you hit Update
I deliberately didn’t claim that Over Panic collects “no data.” Once AdMob is inside the app, that would be inaccurate. Google’s own current documentation says the SDK automatically handles IP address, interactions, diagnostics and device/account identifiers by default. Google for Developers
I also kept our wording conservative around the contact feature: selected contact used locally for the feature, not uploaded/sold. That’s what we want the actual build to continue doing.
And later when we reach Play Console → Data safety, we need to update that form too. Our old answers from the paid, ad-free version are no longer necessarily correct now that AdMob exists. Google explicitly says developers are responsible for accounting for SDK data practices in the Data Safety declaration.
